When you begin the program, your Health Coach will help you get started on the Medifast 5 & 1 Plan. The five Medifast Meals you need each day are low in calories, have a low glycemic index, and are scientifically formulated with an optimal balance of protein, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

Medifast Meals are designed to help you lose weight quickly and safely while feeling full and satisfied and getting all the nutrition your body needs.

One day I had just taken my dad to his doctor's appointment and was helping him into his car from his wheelchair. Don Miller approached me to help and asked about my father's health. Linda's Success StoryBefore Take Shape For Life, I was obese and very unhappy with the way I looked and felt. I had severe osteoarthritis in my knees, and I would go straight to the couch or bed as soon as I came home from work.

I kept getting bigger and heavier, and my doctor recommended bariatric surgery, but because I suffer with strokes and TIAs ("mini-strokes") I wasn"t a candidate.

When my Health Coach introduced me to Take Shape For Life, I saw results after week one! I lost ten lbs the first week and I have averaged about 2 - 3 lbs a week since then.

When I started on Take Shape For Life I weighed 260 pounds. I wore a size 24, and had hit the threshold for diabetes. I was on medication for cholesterol and gastric reflux. My back hurt, and I felt old. I was afraid that I wouldn't be around to watch my four little grandchildren grow up.

I had spent two decades on a variety of diets. I fought hunger all the time and felt deprived. It didn't take much to throw me off the diet, and I quickly regained all of the weight plus.
I decided to try Take Shape For Life for one month to see if it would work for me. I liked the fact that the Medifast Meals were pre-packaged, because I was tired of counting calories and carbs. I was impressed that this was a nutritionally complete program, and I liked knowing that there was a well-planned, systematic transition and maintenance program designed to help me keep the weight off.

 I struggled with weight issues my entire life. I can remember needing 'husky' jeans as a kid and feeling bad that I didn't fit in 'regular' clothes. As an adult, being overweight limited my personal, social, and work life. I couldn't enjoy the outdoor sports and activities I loved. In addition, I wanted to get healthy so I could be active with my young kids.
